The burden of proof is on publishers to defend their web traffic, yet 80% admit they don't have insight into how their traffic is audited, raising questions about which traffic is non-human traffic (NHT). Data Conversion Laboratory, Inc. (DCL) and Bowker have delivered the results of their 2016 Digital Publishing Survey, and the answers point to worries over quality and consistency when content goes from print to digital. The survey was jointly conducted by DCL and Bowker, connecting publishers, authors, and booksellers with readers. This is the third joint survey for DCL and Bowker, and this year's attracted 698 participants, up from 579 in 2015 and 215 in 2014. The survey probes digital publishers and self-publishing authors to find trend lines across a wide swath of important topics. Question topics range from the various digital formats publishers use to the quality of ebooks.

SDL announced the release of SDL Trados Studio 2017, the latest version of its computer-assisted translation (CAT) tool. With the rise in content creation, the translation industry continues to grow - jumping nearly 6% in 2016 to over $40 billion USD, according to the Common Sense Advisory. SDL's own research recently revealed that of nearly 3,000 translators surveyed, 72% believe they would lose competitive advantage without translation productivity tools.
